There's nothing quite so maddening as an enormous queue separating you from the cruise ship on your first day of vacation. Apparently, Carnival understands this feeling, because it has just enhanced its online registration system, which should speed up the embarkation process.
Guests can now register for the "Sail & Sign" onboard credit card system through Carnival's online embarkation portal, called Fun Pass. A secure encryption method protects the credit card information submitted through the Web site. Cruisers can also review and agree to the ticket contract. Guests can designate a responsible person and pre-register up to three cabins at once.
The benefit of this enhanced system is you can fill out the virtual paperwork from the comfort of your own home and progress more speedily through the queue on embarkation day. The online system has already proven quite popular. Since the program's launch in 2003, Carnival has found that almost 90 percent of guests take advantage of the online pre-registration option. Who wouldn't want to get to their cabin (not to mention the buffet lunch) as soon as possible?
